5 Reasons You Need A Coach During Your Weight Loss Journey

May 23, 2018 By Valeo Physical Therapy

When you’re on a weight loss journey, it can be hard to lose weight when you’re on your own.  But, even the best community and support from family and friends is no replacement for a good weight loss coach.  If you want to reach your weight loss goals, then having a coach to guide you is the best way that you can be successful in losing the weight you want, and then keeping it off.

Here are 5 Reasons having a coach during your weight loss journey is essential:

  1. They will teach you what you need to do.  A weight loss coach has the education and training necessary to be able tot teach you exactly what you need to be doing to lose the weight that you want.  One of their jobs is to pass that knowledge onto you, so that you can use it to eat better, exercise more effectively, and ultimately lose weight.  Rather than wasting time doing your own research, you can get a weight loss coach to learn exactly what you need to know.
  2. They will personalize everything for you.  No two people are alike, so why should you get your weight loss tips from a book that’s not designed for you, your body type, or your lifestyle?  A weight loss coach will personalize everything and work with you to make sure that you are doing exactly what you need based on your needs and preferences.  It’s the personalization of your weight loss plan that will help you easily reach your goals.
  3. They will keep you motivated to keep working hard. Weight loss is hard, and nobody understands that better than a weight loss coach who has helped a number of people lose weight.  They will help you keep on track with your weight loss by finding what motivates you most and focusing on that as a way to help you lose the weight you want.  Since it’s their job to help you lose weight, they will work just as hard as  you to keep you on track.
  4. They will help you create realistic goals.  For many people, one of the reasons they don’t reach their weight loss goals is that they become discouraged when they’re not reaching them as quickly as they feel they should, so they end up just giving up instead.  A weight loss coach, however, will be able to sit down with you and help you create realistic goals that you can reach so you’ll be encouraged to continue until you reach your end goal.
  5. They will help you establish good habits.  By far the best way to keep weight off after losing is to change your eating and exercise habits, and not just for a short time.  A weight loss coach wants to see you make lifestyle changes that will allow you to keep off the weight you lose for the rest of your life, and so they will help you establish good habits that you can maintain long after you reach your weight loss goal. (HohmanRehab)
